Pandemic amongst "musicians"

Updated: Apr 20

Damn I fell into a rabbit hole. It all started when I came across a video on YouTube by Danny Sapko (I hope I remembered his name right!). He exposed this punk ass, maggot, low life thief called Giacomo Turra. An Instagram guitarist basking in a spotlight. But turned out that all the stuff he was playing was stolen from other not that well known players. He never mentioned those players on his videos. And he was also selling tabs as his own compositions stolen from other players!

That really makes me feel sick! The music you write is so personal and when somebody comes and steals your music it feels like you've been raped. Never happened to me though (I hope!) but that's how it would feel!

And the other pandemic that's going on is that he/many others even have slowed down the tracks to play every single note perfectly and everything sounds way too polished and clean. And so many are doing that. You put a 30 second video and edit the hell out of it. That sets unrealistic goals for anyone starting to learn an instrument. Why would you want a guitar to sound like an synth?! The most expressive instrument that can put emotions into notes, and you want to take the human factor away from it?! God damn these people make me sick!!

All the little mistakes makes us human! What are you trying to prove and why?

And when these "musicians" get caught they'll publish a video explaining and lying to their audience. It's okay to not to be perfect. In fact I respect a player a way more who are playing from their heart with passion and I want to hear those little mistakes as well. But I don't want to see or hear those robotic performances!

The difference is like a night and day, I can always tell what comes from soul and which doesn't.

Anyways, if you happen to manipulate your live "raw" playthrough videos or borrow (steal) someone else's licks or songs, just be honest about it! You'll probably get away with it without any bigger drama.

Writing a new album

I've started to write new music. While typing this I have four songs recorded and two unfinished ones. I have to balance between my music...
